Day of arrival

On the day of arrival lunch is served between 13.00-14.00h.
Your suite will be ready and waiting for you at 14.00h.

Your drives within the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve can be carried out at any time throughout the day where you will be guided by your own private knowledgeable game ranger in an open game viewing vehicle who will provide you with insightful information on the fauna and flora of the Klein Karoo.

If you have any particular interests, please discuss them with your dedicated ranger who will be happy to merge your plans with those of the group or mention them when reserving the accommodation.

Whether it will be on a shorter southern drive or heading to the north on an extended day drive, the various drives can take between 2-7hrs depending on weather and time of departure.
Drives will include a bush breakfast, lunch or sundowners picnic for you to enjoy at one of our amazing viewpoints.
We also offer a guided southern nature walk so that you may gain a true perspective of the fauna and flora that makes the Klein Karoo so unique.
It is always advisable to bring warm clothes along, even in summer. In winter a warm jacket, beanie, scarf and gloves are advisable above the poncho and raincoats which we provide. These items are also available to purchase at the Lodge.
Please do not forget to bring your binoculars, cameras and video cameras along, as we can never be sure of what we may encounter out in the veldt.
Your safety is of our utmost concern and your guide will inform you of the necessary safety precautions as you commence your drive.
